What can Hess Veterinary Anesthesia, Pain Management, and Educational Consulting Offer?
For DVMs, I can attend cases, help formulate protocols, answer questions about complicated cases by email or in real-time by phone or face-time, offer continuing education or supervise training of the resident doctors. I will formulate or evaluate protocols for anesthesia and pain management. I also will take urgent calls for patients under anesthesia or try to schedule a time to be easily contacted if your practice has concerns beforehand about a case but is not sure if those concerns will emerge during anesthesia.
For Pet parents, I can evaluate and treat your pet for pain in-home or at one of several hospitals. I also have a list of specialty and general hospitals where I can arrange by appointment to offer a consult for your pet.
Human surgical and medical procedures are frequently overseen by a professional trained in the field of anesthesia. Veterinary medicine does not require this service, but more and more professionally trained veterinary anesthesiologists are making their expertise available for your pet's safety and well-being. A veterinary anesthesiologist can provide additional safety to your pet's procedure. No patient is too healthy for an anesthesiologist and I have supervised elective procedures including dentals and neutering for concerned pet parents or DVMs.
Dr. Jennifer Hess, DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVAA, is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist practicing in the New York City, NJ, and CT. Phone/fax/telemedicine consults available. Can arrange to FACE-TIME during procedures for urgent questions.
Dr. Hess is dedicated to helping your pet and your practice.
